Mekael and Bill are the hosts of the Almost Awakened Podcast. They have spent a ton of time diving into human development, human behavior, having deconstructed unhealthy systems and communities and what they have learned from that. As they have built with others, a vibrant healthy community where authenticity and vulnerability matter, they want to share with you what they have learned, point you to good books, provide you with the tools and resources to help you awaken, and share with you their experiences in doing shadow work and recognizing ego and working to reduce unhealthiness in our lives.

  1. This is very good; thank you for doing this. I want to say something about a comment that was made that to live to an old age and having seen all of your loved ones die, “sucks!” No, it doesn’t! You never live so long, IMO, that you have nothing that is good about life. You are always having new experiences, and you are always learning new things. It never runs out. I maybe would have thought the same thing when I was 40, but now, in my older years, life is even more meaningful to me than it ever was, and more beautiful, but in different ways. The only thing that I’m thinking that will be really hard is that I will miss my children and grandchildren, those who have been with me. I will miss seeing them, hearing their voices, and everything about them. I will miss that.

I like where I am, without a religion to give me the “answers”; I like not knowing. I like not knowing better than the answers I was given in religion.

    Thanks, again!

    1. Lois! Thanks for your comment. I’m with you in that I don’t mind living to an old age as long as my body and mind are sound enough to let me do it. There are always things to learn with each stage of life you are in. I love it! I connect with you as well in that I don’t need nor do I want answers about death. I had been given answers for so long and now that I am beginning to awaken I see how false and destructive many of them are. I look forward to the adventure of death and whatever may or may not come from it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions. I hope to hear from you again.
